Sous Chef - Cambridge College - £35'000 + Great Perks (Including daytime working pattern)

Bread Hospitality are working with a renowned and historic College in Cambridge who are looking to find an experienced Sous Chef. Our brief is to find a passionate chef to assist the Executive Chef with the efficient running of the kitchen and in the absence of the Executive Chef assume responsibility for the kitchen. You will be required to maintain good relationships with students, members of the College and university, other College staff, customers and suppliers.


The ideal candidate would have strong background in catering for large numbers whilst using local fresh ingredients. You will be working with a brigade of skilled junior chefs who are looking to develop their own career. We are seeking an ambitious individual who has a wide range of culinary skills.


The Person–

  • Professional cooking/food preparation qualification

  • Excellent culinary skills

  • Experience in a busy, demanding, commercial kitchen environment

  • Able to remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate effective leadership

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Possess certificate in Food Hygiene

  • High allergen awareness

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the relevant Health & Safety legislation

  • Good team worker, but happy to work independently

  • Flexible, well-organised and ‘can-do’ approach to the varied and demanding workload

The Package –

  • Up to £35k Salary

  • 40 hours per week
