Head Chef - Bury St Edmunds - £40K

Bread Hospitality has teamed up with this fantastic hotel in the heart of Suffolk to find a new Head Chef. Our brief is to find an exceptional Head Chef oozing with creativity to lead an exciting brigade of ambitious chefs looking to offer a unique menu offering the best local produce available at 2/3 rosette standard.


The ideal candidate would be a real ‘foodie’ with a strong background in creating exciting menus using local suppliers and creating their own mouth-watering dishes. You will inherit a great brigade of skilled junior chefs who are looking to develop their own career under a highly skilled head chef’s direction. We are seeking an ambitious individual who has a wide range of culinary skills. You would also be required to show an exceptional financial understanding of kitchen management and GP controls.


The Responsibilities….


  • Full day to day management of the kitchen

  • Full menu creation

  • Managing the kitchen GP

  • You must possess excellent culinary and presentation skills.

  • Managing a full kitchen team – briefing, supervising and motivating team members.

  • Great back-office knowledge when it comes to stock management, recruitment, training and development and other management duties.

  • Having the ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
