Executive Chef - Independent School 

  • Up to £40,000.00 per Annum

  • Term Time Plus 5 Week Contract

  • 40 Hours per Working Week

  • Flexibility Within The Role


An established independent school is seeking an experienced and creative Executive Chef to lead and develop its catering provision. You will oversee all daily operations, including the main refectory, sixth form café, boarding meals, and hospitality for school events. This is a term-time plus 5-week role, working 40 hours per week with some flexibility for mornings, evenings and weekends.


We are looking for a motivated and innovative chef with strong people-management skills, excellent organisation, and a passion for fresh, nutritious food. You will manage menus, food quality, compliance, supplier relationships, budgeting, and stock control, while driving continuous improvement and enhancing the food experience for pupils, staff and visitors.


Essential:

  • Experience in leading a small team in a culinary environment

  • Strong customer service focus

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Creative, proactive and flexible approach

  • Intermediate Food Hygiene & Safety certificate


Desirable:

  • Experience in a school environment

  • NVQ Level 3 / C&G 706/1 & 2

  • First Aid certificate
