  • £50,000 salary

  • 40-hour contract

  • Typical working pattern: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday–Friday

  • Occasional evening/weekend support (approx. 10 days per year)

We’re working with a prestigious independent school to recruit an experienced Catering Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of their catering service. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven leader in contract catering to join a high-profile client site and take responsibility for the core feeding operations, ensuring excellence across the board.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the daily catering operation across a large and diverse workforce

  • Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and service delivery

  • Motivate, train, and develop your team to achieve operational excellence

  • Oversee budgets, control costs, and drive efficiency without compromising on quality

  • Maintain full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards

  • Report directly to the Contract Manager, supporting client relationship management

  • Plan, monitor, and evaluate performance using Excel spreadsheets and data analysis


About You

  • Proven experience as a Catering Manager or Operations Manager within B&I contract catering

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to engage a diverse team

  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence in managing budgets

  • Highly organised, with solid Excel and data-handling abilities

  • Ambitious and driven, with the desire to progress into a more senior management role within the next few years

  • A genuine passion for food, service excellence, and customer satisfaction
