Experienced Maintenance Operative

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join the Estates team at a well-established independent school in Cambridgeshire.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you’ll play a hands-on role maintaining the school’s buildings, grounds and facilities, ensuring everything is safe, functional and presented to a high standard. This is a varied position suited to someone who is practical, proactive and confident carrying out general maintenance tasks.

The role

• Full-time, 40 hours per week

• £31,000 Annual Salary

• Monday–Friday, typically between 7am–6pm

• Some evening and weekend work required around events

• Part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate

• 35 days holiday, including 5 days taken over the Christmas closure

• Employer pension contribution of 5%

You’ll need previous maintenance experience, a practical approach and the ability to work independently while supporting the wider Estates team. Flexibility is important, particularly around school events and holiday periods.
