We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on Caretaker / Custodian to join the Facilities team at a busy independent school.

Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping the school safe, clean, secure and welcoming for pupils, staff, visitors and external guests.

Your responsibilities will include opening and securing the school, waste management, porterage, routine inspections, alarm response, basic maintenance and cleaning, as well as supporting events and external bookings.

We’re looking for someone who is practical, organised and proactive, with the flexibility to turn their hand to a wide range of tasks. You’ll need excellent communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with pupils, parents, staff and visitors.

This is a varied role within a friendly and supportive Facilities team, offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the school.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, maintenance or similar role

• A practical, hands-on approach

• Good organisational and communication skills

• The ability to work independently and use initiative

• A flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team

• High standards of safety, cleanliness and presentation
