At the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside, is this thriving food-led pub with rooms, known for its seasonal menus, locally sourced ingredients, and warm hospitality. We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the close-knit kitchen team and help continue delivering exceptional dining experiences to both locals and destination guests. Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in shaping the fresh, produce-driven offering and maintaining the high standards they’re proud of.


The Role

  • Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen

  • Ensuring every dish meets exceptional standards for taste, presentation, and consistency

  • Maintaining smooth kitchen operations, including stock control and cost management

  • Upholding high standards of food safety and health & safety compliance

  • Leading by example to create a positive, motivated, and professional kitchen environment

  • Assisting with menu development and contributing creative ideas


The Person

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous ready to step up

  • A genuine passion for fresh, quality ingredients and seasonal cooking

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Confidence managing service and supporting a busy kitchen team

  • Knowledge of kitchen compliance, hygiene standards, and cost control

  • A positive attitude and team-first mentality
