At the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside, is this thriving food-led pub with rooms, known for its seasonal menus, locally sourced ingredients, and warm hospitality. We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the close-knit kitchen team and help continue delivering exceptional dining experiences to both locals and destination guests. Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in shaping the fresh, produce-driven offering and maintaining the high standards they’re proud of.
The Role
Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Ensuring every dish meets exceptional standards for taste, presentation, and consistency
Maintaining smooth kitchen operations, including stock control and cost management
Upholding high standards of food safety and health & safety compliance
Leading by example to create a positive, motivated, and professional kitchen environment
Assisting with menu development and contributing creative ideas
The Person
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous ready to step up
A genuine passion for fresh, quality ingredients and seasonal cooking
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence managing service and supporting a busy kitchen team
Knowledge of kitchen compliance, hygiene standards, and cost control
A positive attitude and team-first mentality
